Welcome to my corner of Hoot
Here I share my take on fitness, nutrition, and health—stuff I’ve learned the hard way while trying to balance family, work, and staying active.
I’m a dad of two, which means my days are full of coaching soccer, basketball, and baseball, keeping up on hikes or mountain bike rides, and sneaking off to Lake Tahoe whenever I can. I played college basketball for the world-renowned UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs, and while those days are long gone, staying active is still a huge part of who I am. Full disclosure: my most commonly tracked item on Hoot is probably a cold IPA.
Why Nutrition Matters to Me
Nutrition, for me, isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about having the energy and strength to keep up with my kids, feel good in my own skin, and enjoy life without guilt. Food should fuel adventure, family time, and the moments that matter most. That’s what I want to pass on—health as a tool for living, not a set of rules to follow.
